9

A friend saw 9 loved it's designs and came up with one of his own. He sent his character design to me and I was inspired to do a quick Photoshop sketch of it as practice.

More concept work

I posted a few concept sketches earlier this month. Here's one of those sketches fully rendered. I've included the original sketch with this post.

Grillo the good luck grasshopper once again having lost his way

An inside joke between a friend and I. Wouldn't be funny to explain it as is often the case with inside jokes. You just had to be there. Just the same enjoy the Grasshopper.

Hulk vs. Hellboy

Hulk is a monster, Hellboy hunts monsters...'nough said. I'm still working on the colours for this one. I'll post it when it's done.

Logo / Pin-up work

A friend called from L.A., needing a pin up girl logo. Other then her having to be straddling a torpedo I could do what I wanted. I only had a few days to get it all done. With everything I had on my plate it was pretty tight, but totally worth trying...and here she is.

Sketchbook

Here's some of my more entertaining and interesting sketchbook work from the past few weeks.

Concept work

I'm working on a couple of projects doing concept work in order to develop some skills, gain some experience and work on my portfolio. I can't really talk about any of it, but minus the context here are some sketches. I'm going to post the two projects separately, this is the first.

Inking

These are some examples of the inking I did last year in school. The pencils are by, in order, Terry Dodson, Ramon Perez, Ramon Perez again and John Buscema. The Dodson and Buscema pencils where from the book "The art of comic book inking", they both have a line through them as they came in the book folded and had a very nasty crease through there centers. Just the same the book rocks and I recommend it. The Ramon Perez pencils came from the man himself, he was my instructor. The class kicked ass.
